About Us
With 30 years' combined experience in the arts & entertainment industry, there's nothing we love more than joining forces to create powerful art & memorable experiences. Whether you need advice, inspiration, or someone to run the show, we're your women.
We met working with Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir (SGLC) in 2005, Mel as the Event Manager & Sarah as Music Director. Over 12 years, we produced diverse events including concerts, choral festivals, regional & international tours, an opera, a musical, a cabaret, & even performance art installations in Hobart's MONA. In 2009 we were part of the creative team which produced Henry Purcell's Fairy Queen for SGLC, the first opera ever produced by a queer choir. In that production we met Director Sharna Galvin & singer Bernard Leon. Bernie founded Opera Prometheus in 2011, a boutique chamber opera company, for which we & Sharna have produced six operas, including PromFest, a festival of new Australian chamber operas. In 2016, we founded Pacific Pride Choir, a biennial touring choir created to contribute to the visibility & acceptance of LGBTQI+ people in countries where homosexuality is legalised, but not fully recognised. With the help of KIConcerts, PPC's first tour to Poland & Germany ran in 2017, with 50 participants from around the world. For more on our individual projects, including Mel's work as Markets & Events Coordinator for the City of Sydney, & Sarah's work as a freelance conductor and vocal coach, see our individual pages.
